ChatGPT users are experiencing connectivity issues this afternoon after outages were first reported about an hour ago on Down Detector, a platform that tracks service disruptions.
Most users are encountering an error message reading: “ChatGPT is currently unavailable. Status: Identified - We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix.”
This outage comes shortly after similar disruptions were reported across Meta platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, earlier today.
A similar update was shared by OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, on X: “We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry, and we’ll keep you updated!” However, there has been no information released on what is causing the disruption.
At this time, OpenAI has not provided a timeline for when the AI chatbot will be back online
